ODV Appraisal Group is sailing to the top of its field
| | By CB STAFF | | | Seven years ago, brothers Jose Javier Ortiz del Valle and Felipe R. Ortiz del Valle decided to pool their 20 years of collective experience in real-estate appraisal and established ODV Appraisal Group, PSC. The general real-estate appraisal and consulting services firm began out of a spare room in one of the brothers’ apartment with the help of a secretary and one associate. Today, the company that serves the banking industry and local and federal government institutions has a staff of 22 that includes general and residential certified and licensed appraisers, a licensed attorney, and highly qualified field staff and administrative assistants. |
What senior partner Jose Ortiz del Valle believes is responsible for the company’s success is its winning combination of knowledge, experience, training, and technology. “Few firms have what is necessary to deliver the complete package,” said the senior partner. “Whether it’s an appraisal of a single-family home for a mortgage loan, the consulting and appraisal of a proposed development project for the underwriting of a construction loan or even condemnation or litigation—we deliver.” Ortiz del Valle, who holds two of the most prestigious designations in commercial real-estate appraisal, said other important factors are that the firm is qualified and accepted by most commercial and mortgage banks and also has experience in federal and local government condemnation projects.
Besides appraisal services, the firm offers related financial analysis, highest and best-use analysis, site analysis, litigation support, feasibility analysis, market rent analysis and development consulting. Ortiz del Valle said ODV recently added real-estate legal consulting and soon will add a sales, leasing, and management division. The company also uses the power of technology to its benefit. “Our computer networking and tools as well as the Internet allow us to shorten the turnaround period of our products and services,” said the appraisal expert.
To better accommodate its associates and serve its clients, ODV is constructing a new office building and will move its operation upon its completion.
